BUNCO

Gift: something given voluntarily without payment in return, as to show favor toward someone, honor an occasion, or make a gesture of assistance; present, something bestowed or acquired without any particular effort by the recipient or without its being earned.

If it was possible we would write a check. A check that would cover the cost of our adoption. We wouldn't need to ask for help. There would be no need for fundraisers or t-shirt sales just open up the checkbook and take care of business. These are not our circumstances. The reality is we feel God has called us to adopt and in that call we must also rely and on the help and support of others. It is so difficult to ask for help and even more difficult to receive. We are learning and we are seeing how our impossible situation allows all the more room for God to show his grace and gives us more opportunity to give him the glory. We are learning to accept the gifts that we are so abundantley being blessed with by family, friends and those we've never even met. It can be difficult but then there are nights when it's also a whole lot of fun!

One of the very first fundraising conversations I had was with my friend Angie. When I shared with her that we would need to fundraise most of the money needed for our adoption she immediately jumped on board and said "I'm doing something!" So over the next couple months she started planning a bunco party with another dear friend Jaclyn. They pulled every detail together and inisted that we do nothing for the event. They collected incredible baskets for raffle items, filled a table full of yummy food and most importantly spread the word to friends and family.

Aren't these the cutest BUNCO score sheets you've ever seen?
If you've never played BUNCO before you gotta find yourself a party and give it a try. There's no skill involved and it's soooo much fun! Especially when you throw a few competitive men in the mix. One of the things I love about BUNCO is the opportunity to meet someone for the first time and immediately be cheering them on as your teammate. Then two minutes later move tables and you're now on the opposing team. Lends itself well to some fun smacktalk!

Sam even got in on the action and ended up with the most BUNCO's and a pair of sweet Oakleys.

We are so grateful for the gifts that continue to pour upon us. We are not deserving and we have done nothing to earn them. They are truly gifts. We are thankful for the beautiful gifts and baskets donated for our raffle and once again awed by the generosity of others. Most of all we are thankful for all the hours of work that went into planning this for us and all the family and friends that showed up to make it happen. We love you and y'all ROCK!!
